| This
woodland cottage, nestling between Easden Hill and
Hambledown provides a warm welcome and a tranquil base from which to
explore a
beautiful corner of Dartmoor. Chagford,
Moretonhampstead, Manaton and
Widecombe in the Moor are all within four miles, while many South coast
beaches
can be reached within an hour, as can the Cathedral city of Exeter
(glorious Cathedral, Northcott theatre, excellent shopping and good
museum) |
|
For walkers of all capabilities
the moor is on your doorstep
and we can either drop off or pick up those who want a long or
challenging
hike. Pony trekking
is available in
Widecombe – or what about learning to fly a bird of prey?
– also available
locally.

Your bedroom is light and airy with
windows on three sides
and its own little bathroom. You
will
find all you need to make tea and coffee, and comfy armchairs, but we
hope you
will make use of the sitting room downstairs, where, except during very
hot weather
you’ll be
able to relax by an open
fire. We do not
have television, but we
do have a set, with a good selection of videos and
D.V.D.s as well as board games and plenty of
books. |
| We take great pride in the food we serve
and you will always
be consulted over the breakfast and dinner menus.
Our style is “lavish country” with almost all
ingredients sourced locally
and seasonally. Don’t
come here for
strawberries in December or pheasant in April!
I (Christina ) adore cooking and
am sure you will enjoy some memorable meals with us. However, if you want a
night out there are
some good pubs and one or two really excellent restaurants within a few
miles. |
