Vogwell Cottage
A woodland cottage in the heart of Dartmoor.

Vogwell Cottage is the home of Christina and John Everett.
Down the quietest of country lanes,
this cottage, surrounded by Dartmoor's splendid wildlife
is only a few hundred yards off the Two Moors Way.
No passing traffic. A peaceful haven from today's hurly burley world.

Indeed, there is no television, as we receive no signal. Out of the door is the most
wonderful walking area.  A joy for birdwatchers and archaeologists alike.
The
deserted Mediaeval farming village at Houndtor is within a couple of miles.
Widecombe-in-the-Moor is a short car journey, where you will find 2 pubs and
the magnificent Widecombe Church known as the Cathedral of the Moor.

The accommodation on offer is one lovely large double bedroom that looks out
onto the garden. Along with one single bedroom that has an extra pull-out bed if 2
children are staying. A private bathroom sits between the 2 bedrooms.

We offer breakfast in the conservatory, and on cooler mornings you are welcome into
the dining room. Christina offers a delicious and substantial 2 course evening meal for £15 per head. Children aged 10 and over are most welcome, lots for
them to do and see.

The bright single room has a pull out mattress for an extra guest. See the Moorland
views from the window (above).  When Jill Pendleton, the photographer
came to take these
   photos, she commented
that it was very much like taking a trip to a favourite

Grannie's house. It's not slick or corporate in any way, it's hot water bottles,
somewhere youngsters can collect fresh eggs, as we type there's a real bird's nest
with chicks on the front wall, Dartmoor ponies are very close at hand.
And it's all a bit old hat really ...!
We think that you'll like it.       Do telephone if you have any queries ......
